Impartiality

Impartiality

A governing principle for audit, review and certification decisions—not a hidden legal paragraph.

Our commitment

Certification decisions are based on independent evidence.

INSPECT identifies, evaluates and manages impartiality risks, including commercial, personal, organizational and financial relationships that may affect assessment objectivity.

No consultancy for the assessed client

INSPECT does not design, implement or maintain the management system it will audit and certify.

Separation of roles

The audit team gathers evidence and reports findings. Technical review and certification decision are performed independently under applicable procedures.

Risk controls

How does the principle appear in practice?

Team assignment

Competence, relationships and conflicts are reviewed before assignment.

Disclosure

Participants disclose relevant relationships and interests.

Independent decision

The audit team does not make the certification decision.

Training boundaries

General learning does not become tailored implementation advice.

Marketing controls

No service purchase is tied to promises of easier or faster certification.

Ongoing review

Impartiality risks are reviewed when relationships or circumstances change.

Raise a concern

Do you see a conflict or influence on objectivity?

A concern or complaint can be submitted through the dedicated channel and reviewed confidentially without retaliation or inappropriate influence.
